چکیده

Purpose MR-guided radiotherapy has different requirements for the images than diagnostic radiology, thus requiring development of novel imaging sequences. MRI simulation is an excellent tool optimizing these new sequences; however, currently available software does not provide all necessary features. In this paper, we present a digital framework testing sequences that incorporates anatomical structure, respiratory motion, and realistic presentation MR physics. Methods The extended Cardiac-Torso (XCAT) was used to create T1, T2, proton density maps formed structure phantom. Respiratory motion model based on XCAT deformation vector fields, modified driven by respiration signal. carried out with JEMRIS, open source Bloch simulator. We developed extension which calculates each spin independently, allowing deformable motion. Results performance demonstrated through simulating acquisition two-dimensional (2D) cine demonstrating expected ghosts from T2 weighted echo acquisitions patterns. All simulations were consistent behavior previously described in literature. Simulations more time consuming rigid Conclusions four-dimensional (4D) phantom sequence development. breathing patterns, achieve accurate MRI. This method particularly relevant purpose lungs abdomen.

Technical note: a deformable phantom for dynamic modeling in radiation therapy.

A deformable phantom was developed to aid in quality assurance for dynamic imaging and targeting techniques in radiation therapy. Made of simple materials combined with standard components for imaging and motion experiments, this phantom can be relatively easily constructed and used for both diagnostic imaging and dosimetry. Repeat imaging studies indicate that the phantom meets criteria of rel...

Development of a deformable lung phantom for the evaluation of deformable registration

The deformable lung phantom was developed to account for the patient breathing motion, and to evaluate for a deformable image registration algorithm. The phantom consisted of an acryl cylinder filled with water and a latex balloon located in the inner space of the cylinder. A silicon membrane was attached to the inferior end of the phantom. This silicon membrane was designed to simulate a real ...

Investigation of a Powerful Tool for the Development of Thinly Bedded Carbonate Reservoirs (TECHNICAL NOTE)

In thin-layered reservoirs, drilling engineers face tough challenges—planning their drilling programs to follow the most productive reservoir layers while avoiding nearby water, gas or high-pressure zones. The rewards for a successful drilling strategy are clear—increased oil production and reduced water cut. In an oil field in the Persian Gulf, for example, oil production was increased four- t...

Technical note: DIRART--A software suite for deformable image registration and adaptive radiotherapy research.

PURPOSE Recent years have witnessed tremendous progress in image guide radiotherapy technology and a growing interest in the possibilities for adapting treatment planning and delivery over the course of treatment. One obstacle faced by the research community has been the lack of a comprehensive open-source software toolkit dedicated for adaptive radiotherapy (ART). To address this need, the aut...
